Research Summer Camp July 2008

With Lord Hoffmann and Professor Sarah Worthington as guest speakers, the School of Law successfully concluded the 4th Research Summer Camp on 28 July 2008 at the Legends, Fort Canning. The cases that were discussed during the camp include:

  • OBG Ltd v Allan [2007] 4 ALL ER 545
  • RCC v Total Network [2008] 2 ALL ER 413
  • The Achilleas  case - Transfield Shipping Inc v Mercator Shipping Inc [2008] UKHL 48

Research Summer Camp May 2008

The School of Law conducted the 3rd Research Summer Camp on 7 May 2008 at the Legends, Fort Canning, with Professor Robert Merkins as the guest speaker.

Research Summer Camp August 2007

On 14 August, the School of Law held their 2nd Research Summer Camp 2007 at the Changi Village Hotel, with Mr Richard Nolan as the guest speaker. Mr Richard Nolan shared with the school on his work about the influence of transactional lawyers on the development of law.

Curriculum Retreat May 2007

The School of Law held their first Curriculum Retreat on 4 May 2007 at the Changi Village Hotel. It was a successful and rewarding retreat.

Inaugural Summer Camp May 2006

The School of Law held their first-ever Inaugural Summer Camp on 16 May 2006 at the Sentosa Golf Club. The participants included the members of the Law Department, Visiting Professor Michael Furmston and Professor Howard Hunter, President of the Singapore Management University.

In the tranquil surroundings of the Golf Club with its manicured fairways and stunning views of the sea, the Summer Camp was successfully conducted. It was a very fruitful and rewarding experience and the Faculty found the first Summer Camp to be very beneficial and intellectually stimulating, and look forward to future Summer Camps.
