The Singapore Management University's new School of Law welcomed its first batch of law students in August 2007. The 4-year LLB programme aims to produce holistic graduates who understand law in its contextual environment and as it applies across borders. The school wishes to recruit faculty across a wide range of courses. Knowledge of the following courses is particularly desirable:
- Competition Law
- Economic Analysis of Law

The full list of courses taught is available under our Programme section. Interactive seminar-style teaching is employed at SMU. The school currently has a collegial team of 30 full-time faculty.
Applications are invited for academic positions of assistant professor, associate professor and professor respectively at the law school. There are two categories of faculty - Standing Faculty (a tenured / tenure-track appointment, where sustained scholarly research is a requirement) and Practice Faculty (a non-tenured appointment requiring substantial practical expertise)
Candidates should have excellent undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications as well as a minimum of 3 years' relevant working experience. Applicants for tenured positions should have a proven record of high-quality research. Familiarity with the common law legal system is desirable.
