Mr Richard Sauer is the Associate General Counsel and Senior Director of Microsoft’s Legal and Corporate Affairs department for South Asia Pacific. Mr Sauer oversees all of the Corporation’s legal and government affairs activities in Southeast Asia, India, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to his current assignment in Singapore, he was a Senior Litigator at Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington, USA, and was responsible for a variety of litigation matters pending against the Corporation.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Mr Sauer worked for the New York City based law firm of Sullivan & Cromwell. He holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from the American University’s Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C., and a B.A. from the Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. He is admitted to practice law before various state and federal courts in the United States and is a member of the American Bar Association.
